The long and the short of it is he found out Lyney left me to die in the ruins on Norhpip and he's being his charmingly rational self about it.
[Kaveh doesn't really think he needs to keep the whole thing a secret from Heizou. Heizou was on Norhpip. He can probably put all the pieces together.]
[He pauses for a moment to think this through. Kaveh can probably hear what sounds like a pen tapping against a table or something.]
Much of what happened on Norhpip was beyond our control. All of us were practically at one another's throats the entire time. I assume he's only this upset about it because he only just found out. But didn't they also start to fight one another to the death back then?
In Alhaitham's case, while he's aware of that logically, it also reinforced how much he already distrusted Lyney. To then find out Lyney obliquely attempted harm the only family Haitham has...
[Kaveh makes a sound like a mental shrug.]
To be clear, I've never blamed Lyney for the incident. But as I told Lyney, if you think Alhaitham is a rational man, you've really terribly misread him.
[He snorts softly.] I've never thought of Alhaitham as a rational man. If I ever did, it was before I got to meet him for myself.
[Another sigh, and the tapping stops.]
At any rate, I realize you're warning me because as Lyney's boyfriend, his ire extends to me as well. All I can really say to that is that I don't mind. He's already made that stance perfectly clear to me. So he can think whatever he wants of Lyney and I, but I will draw a line if he tries to do anything more than hiss and growl.

You should probably talk to Lyney before she decides to find out what the hold up is from either of you, Lynette is a very clever and driven young woman.
[And if she starts to get impatient you will WISH it was still only Kaveh bullying you, Heizou.]
[He's blushing, though he does manage a little laugh.]
Lyney and I will talk about that sort of thing when we feel like we're ready for it, okay? Not all of us have over ten years of tension best resolved with marriage~
[There's a long pause, and then another one of those laughing sighs. Both resigned and incredulous as Heizou shakes his head.]
Man alive. When did you get so good at reading people? And we're not even standing face to face. Maybe you should come work with Sherlock and I at the agency.
[That's about as close as he'll get to outright admitting that Kaveh's nearly hit the nail on the head. Because it is scary. But it's also more than that, through no fault of Lyney's.]
