I couldn't say! Maybe it reminded them of something that terrifies them. They could also have recognized the costume itself and reacted badly to it. Or perhaps they're simply offended by anything they think of as abnormal. We won't know for sure without investigating further!

Ah, so it's possible our perpetrator (so to speak) saw your face. Do you have any enemies from home that may have wound up here and recognized you?

That's assuming the bounty was posted by someone affiliated with the paladins. We don't know that yet.

Also, picking a fight outright won't exactly be helpful to your case.

But do also keep in mind that around here the Corsairs and Paladins... They don't always get along for no reason other than being on opposing factions. The locals in particular. So be careful, okay?
