Oh? There's no... gift giving or fancy dinner or anything like that? Just time together?
Maybe it's because we knew each other for so long first...
But it's easy. Sharing this space, sharing this home--all the different parts of us that make us individuals fit together neatly. Even the small things, like how to share the bathroom in the morning, it hardly needs any discussion.
Being with him--loving him--is as instinctual as breathing.
[The way Heizou rolls his eyes at that might as well be audible over the call.]
He'd be less grumpy if he'd review his biases. And he'd be more grumpy if my taste ended up aligning closely with his. I'm afraid there's just no winning with him, here.

But... I guess all I'm saying is that I don't mind if Alhaitham doesn't like me. I don't feel too strongly about it either way, and he seems to tolerate me, so I'm fine with that. There's no need for you to work so hard to change that. We don't have to be friends for me to be glad that you're happy together.
[He lets out a small, hollow laugh. Is it sad? Sometimes he really isn't sure. Mostly he's just... accustomed to it. At the end of the day he still has his precious few friends, and that's always been enough.]
