[He can't help but laugh a little. He has indeed seen the state of Sherlock's apartment, and in many ways it's similar to his own. And Heizou knows that it would be worse if it weren't for Lyney being around all the time.]
A board on wheels sounds very useful. I'm sure that's something we could find or put together.
[He makes a note of it as well. They have a lot more furniture requirements than space requirements, but that's probably to be expected.]
Man alive, Sherlock, are you threatening to break into my office when I'm not around? Shame on you. Here I thought we were friends~
[Joking, of course, but he can't help but tease when the idea itself is just so funny to him.]
[ It really wouldn't be too hard to construct once they had the right materials. They could even get a chalkboard with a similar design. They will just have to remember that pins do not go into the chalkboard. (That might be an easier task to say than do when Sherlock has no qualms about sticking tacks into walls which have no business in being plastered by notes and string.) ]
Would it not be fair? You've let yourself into my apartment before. With only the best intentions, I know, but you must understand that I would only do so for similar reasons.
[ Sherlock can tease back, and he's finding it easier and easier to do with Heizou. Is Heizou rubbing off on Sherlock, or is Sherlock rediscovering something he had lost from trauma? Who is to say? ]
[Maybe they should get something that's a chalkboard on one side and a corkboard on the other. Heizou has seen those little tack marks on Sherlock's walls. And he gets it, so... Add that to the list.
Heizou gives Sherlock a big, boyish grin at that comment, eyes playful. It really is so nice to see the other detective giving as good as he gets. To see something relaxed in the midst of everything else that's going on with him. Heizou knows there's a lot.]
Well, I guess it's not entirely impossible to think that I may have fallen asleep at my desk while looking over case files. In which case, I'll just have to forgive you for the intrusion~
[Just. Make sure Heizou is really alone in his locked office before trying anything...]
I shall keep that in my mind, although I will likely know when you have a client.
[ Despite thinking about Lyney coming over enough to warrant having a desk of his own, Sherlock doesn't take that thought one step further to more scandalous ideas. (People pretending to have a fertility rite during a sexually charged party are having actual sex?!) ]
We should set aside a place to make coffee and tea. We can drink it when we are in midst of analyzing evidence or offer it to clients. Though perhaps those details are better decided when we find an actual place.
[ Which is still part of the challenge of starting this agency. ]
[Heizou chuckles, pleased, as he notes down the new suggestion.]
No, I think those are good details to think about at this stage. Better to have a strong picture in mind as we go in, and be prepared to have to compromise based on what's available to us. A spot for coffee and tea shouldn't take up too much room, anyway, so we'll keep it on the list.
[He pauses for a moment to look over their list, thoughtfully tapping the pen to his chin.]
We should maybe think more about the features of the office itself, now. Do you prefer it to be on ground level? Would it bother you if it had no windows to provide natural light?
[ Sherlock gives his drink a small swirl as he thinks. Nothing comes to mind because well... ]
London is a dreary place, prone to days of rain and thick fog or smoke. Gaslight or candlelight are what I am used to. I've held consultations in my sitting room which require my clients to be let in and then go up the stairs, twenty-one steps, to my flat.
[ He has used the number of steps to the flat to explain the difference between seeing and observing. People usually cannot give him an answer when he asks it of them. It's 17 21 steps. ]
That is to say that what you might deem negatives is what I would consider the usual.
